Grants & community funding


Lesmahagow Community Council are represented on a number of community partnerships and advisory boards for grants and community benefit funds.  We also operate a micro grant fund through South Lanarkshire Council's renewable energy fund (REF). These are detailed below along with some other grants that are available right now.  Discussions are ongoing on a number of other funds so please look out for further information on these as they progress.

If you are a local group, club or charity and are seeking funding for a project, equipment, or have an idea that would benefit the community please get in touch - we can advise and support applications to the funds listed.

 

Kype Muir Community Fund


Lesmahagow Community Council are members of the Kype Muir Community Partnership which oversees use of the Kype Muir Community Fund (KMCF).  The windfarm is operated by Banks Renewables and contributions are made to local employability and the SLC REF fund in addition to the KMCF.

The fund’s area of benefit is a 10 km radius of the windfarm and it is split equally between the 5 community council areas.

Cumberhead Community Fund 

The Cumberhead Community Fund is a fund that has been established to support the communities local to the windfarm. Ideally, the Fund aims to support projects that improve the local community; anything which promotes the economic, social or environmental sustainability of the local area.

Open to social enterprises, charities, local community groups in the Lesmahagow and Coalburn community council areas.

Grants from £250 to £25,000

Grants available up to £500

Lesmahagow Development Trust (LDT) Community Grant

LDT Community Grants of up to £500 are available for local charity or constituted not-for-profit organisations based in Lesmahagow, Blackwood, Kirkmuirhill, Draffan, Boghead and Auchenheath.

This grant is operated independently by the Development Trust and LCC are not involved in the decision making process.  We can assist in completing an application however its a fairly simple process.
