Community First Responders Recruiting NOW!
Added on 27 March 2009
Community First Responders are a vital resource in emergency medical situations, particularly in rural areas such as Lesmahagow.
Volunteers are trained to use an automated external defibrillator and how to administer basic life support. They are dispatched to certain types of 999 calls and frequently arrive on scene before an ambulance. This provides effective early intervention and can greatly increase a patient’s chances of survival in many cases.
The cost of a defibrillator is in excess of £1,500 so any donation large or small would be greatly appreciated.
For further information please see Lesmahagowcfr.com or EMAIL the area co-ordinator.
