LCC Meeting 25/10

Added on 01 November 2007

COMMUNITY COUNCIL [LCC] – At last Thursday’s meeting South Lanarkshire Council’s Schools Modernisation Coordinator outline plans for the on-going school development programme. The existing car park on the south side of School Road will be retained until the new car park is in place, which should be during summer 2008. Full communication with all interested partiers was promised. A report on the visit to SLC’s Planning department was tabled and discussed. Again a positive report was received from the Community Police Officers with 28 minor crimes reported during October, with 17 detected. Lanarkshire NHS are to be asked to ensure that Birkwood House is effectively wind and water-tight until a sale takes place. Full details of other items discussed can be found in the minutes here. [These minutes have still to be formally approved at thenext meeting.]  They can also be found in folders available at the Resource Centre and the Library.

VANDALISM – At the recent Community Council Meeting the Police asked that members of the public should report any incident. Some residents have been reluctant to contact them, assuming they are ‘too busy with other things’. This is not the case; they do want to hear from you if you have something to report. As most of such incidents are committed by youngsters, perhaps the question parents should be asking is “do we know where our children are, and what they are doing?”
