POST OFFICE CLOSURE

The Community Council have been working on a protest paper regarding the proposed closure of the Bankhead Post office. This was approved at their meeting last Thursday August 28. Aileen Campbell MSP was also at this meeting and reported on what had been a very good response to the questionnaire she had distributed around the area of the village most affected by the closure; receiving over 300 replies. A copy of the Community Council’s submission is here and Aileen Campbell’s is here. We understand that South Lanarkshire Council have also submitted a paper protesting at the closure.
